Hello All,

Quick question for you, do you prefer the term Original Poster (OP) or something else for the person who created a thread?

Thanks in advance,
Sameer

OP for me and most of our members, new members will soon pick up the meaning.

I use OP. So many user names are either complex or nonsensical. Maybe I'll use the name if they're a Harry or a Sue, but not if it's some strange combination of their initials and their birthday or what have you.

OP is the recognised use on forums, as said for experienced forum users. Newcommers will soon adapt it if the term is used throughout the forum.
I am using it from day one as I started writing on forums.

OP, but if newb I may add a mention for similar reasons to Mike Lang.

Seldom get asked to explain, but if I do get asked I use thread starter.

Then brace for OP questions on other acronyms like AFAIK.

Experienced members understand OP but ALL members understand Thread Starter.

Actually not all Members understand 'thread' 😟
I have literally never had someone not understand thread starter BUT I am usually on sites early in their migration to the new software, so maybe they just didn't come up with that yet.
