There's always a lot of confusion on how to get to different parts of a thread from the listing page. We have the chevrons in vB but XF uses the timestamps.

It might be helpful to explain that now the timestamp under the thread title takes you to the beginning of the thread, the thread title itself takes you to where you left off & the timestamp in the far right column takes you directly to the last post.

We may want to add that to the Wayfinding Tour. (the little tour users get when the site is migrated)
That is definetly one of the key points of confusion! Sadly, we can't force people to read the posts or take the tour, but at least we would have an FAQ answer to point them to!

There are a few ways I could set this mini-tutorial up. I will try a few ways to see which is the simplest for users.

Navigating Thread Listing

  • Clicking the thread title will take you to where you left off, the 1st unread post.
  • Clicking the timestamp below the title will take you to the 1st post of the thread.
  • Clicking the timestamp above the last poster user takes you to the last (newest) post.
