Note if the recommended reading has been digging Older Zombie threads let us know and we can tweak the settings.

Tagging @Phileas_VS as an FYI.

I'm not sure what's considered a win here but after today's update, going to a thread about new 2020 receivers still serves up vintage discussions on 4 out of 5...

As you can see, it's also recommending dead threads without replies.

You'd expect to see the very active threads about other 2020 receiver models or even the active older year, same brand threads vs. unrelated threads with no replies.

I know we can't expect much from an automated tool...just pointing out what would ideally be there.

If you're looking at a thread about new 2020 Denon receivers, the recommended reading would be the 2020 threads for Marantz, Yamaha, etc. and/or the 2019, 2018, 2017 Denon threads which all have many replies.

NOTE:

The updates to the Recommended Reading age of posts will be testing on some communities to see how it reacts before going live globally so should not see a change yet but the groundwork for the tweaks has been rolled out this week.

We will update you as communities get added to the "Testing Phase".

Might have to reword the Release Notes to make this clearer @gkatsiochristos

Updated release notes to reflect the staggered rollout.

Did something change (or break) on the recommended reading algo? It was feeding very recent content for a while but now it's back to stuff from 5-20 years ago. Members are noticing and complaining.

I spoke to the team working on this and looks like they removed some settings that they had been testing around December 7th.

They are currently tweaking them on a few larger sites like AVS, SSC, and Overclock so you might see some improvements here shortly while they iron out the details on how to maximize the effectiveness of the algorithm.

I will keep you in the loop of the testing or any updates I hear from them.
