·This isn't really a new idea but I've seen this on a lot of forums/feeds that I go on, I don't remember if I've mentioned this before to anyone here.
I like the idea of being able to control how much content is being loaded on a page to some extent and one way to do that is turning off images. Most of the time (about 80%) when I'm on mobile, I worry a lot about my data (10gb is apparently almost not enough for me) and trying not to going over the limit.
So I noticed that on the gaming forum that I am a member on, you can set your account settings to "Mobile Connection" and what it does is hide all images and media behind a button and then if you want to view it, you can just select "show image/media".
It's a pretty useful tool for picture heavy pages.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that we can't always assume that everyone has the same speed of internet/bandwidth so this would help people out a lot.
