Hi everyone,

We are excited to announce some changes to the release cycle we will be trialing.

What: We will be shifting from our current release cycle of once a week (global release Tuesday) to twice a week (global releases Monday and Wednesday). If at any point in time we notice something is wrong (ex: new bugs found as part of regression testing), we will skip a release.

Why: Currently, there is 1-2 weeks of delay between when a release branch is cut and when the global deployment of that release is. By increasing the frequency of releases, we will be able to ship more features, updates and bug fixes faster and more often.

When: We are targeting Monday April 11th to start the multiple release cycle. Depending on how well the trial does, we may keep this new release cycle for the foreseeable future or scale back to once a week.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Will we still have at least the same amount of testing time here on Onefora before it drops everywhere?

I've always felt Friday night through Monday wasn't a lot of real testing time to catch bad stuff and then we notice it when it's already hit real users.

We hope to target OneFora releases as follows:
release 1
OneFora release - Thursday EOD
Global release - Monday

release 2
OneFora release - Tuesday EOD
Global release - Wednesday

Completely understand the concern for ensuring we have ample time to pre-test before it goes live everywhere. With multiple releases we can expect smaller releases because everything isn't building up in a backlog. We're hoping with the constant cycles of testing that comes with multiple releases that we'll have a higher level of confidence deploying to OneFora so the need to pre-test here isn't as heavy but it is a trial run so we'll have to work out the kinks together. Again if this doesn't work for everyone we can always revert back to once a week like we do today.

I am not a fan of that 2nd release schedule.... <24 hours for making sure that item does not have a negative impact from the prior OF release.... Sounds peachy.
